PHOTOS: Miss USA Already Embroiled In ‘Stripper’ Scandal

It’s been less than 24 hours since Miss Michigan Rima Fakih won Sunday night’s Miss USA pageant and already there’s a scandal a-brewing. Detroit radio show Mojo In The Morning has posted photos of Fakih competing in their annual Stripper 101 contest in 2007 — which she also won.

Mojo In The Morning claims they’ve had the photos on their site for the last three years and that they just featured them prominently in light of Fakih’s win. An update on their site says that they’ve already been contacted by Miss USA pageant officials who have requested to see more photos and information regarding Fakih’s participation:

Morning show host Mojo says the controversial photographs were taken from our website where they have been posted for three years. He said Mojo In The Morning will not release any further photographs and hopes that Donald Trump does not ask Fakih to relinquish her crown. “It would be foolish to consider anyone other than Rima to represent the USA. The photos taken from our website are no more provocative than those on the Miss USA website.”

Mojo In The Morning fully supports Rimah Fakih as she represents Detroit and America in the Miss Universe contest… The radio show will not entertain requests to drag her name through the mud.

Rima doesn’t appear to actually be doing any stripping in the photos (more of which can be seen here) and Mojo is right in saying that they’re no more provocative than the photos on the Miss USA site. Even the Huffington Post’s Style section wondered if they were “Too Hot.” For what it’s worth (and I’m fairly certain that in an ideal world this wouldn’t actually make a difference), “Stripper 101″ is a women only event and held with the hopes of helping “women to enhance their love lives, not to make a person into a dancer,” at least according to Mojo In The Morning.

Fakih doesn’t appear to have broken any rules, so we hope they let her keep the crown (once again, for whatever it’s worth). If anything — and excuse us a moment of superficiality here — she deserves some credit for having a set of seriously enviable stems.
