Roberto Cavalli Thinks Kate Middleton Could Be Sexier
Karl Lagerfeld might be the one with an entire book dedicated to his quotes, but Roberto Cavalli certainly rivals the Kaiser’s unapologetic candor. You might recall that instance in which Cavalli insulted Anna Wintour, Vogue, and Louis Vuitton all in one fell Twitter rant. Let’s face it, the designer’s not one to filter.
However, in a relatively amenable interview with Vogue UK (not American Vogue, mind you), Cavalli revealed that he thinks that a little sex appeal would do Kate Middleton good, and that he’s just the guy for the job:
“A princess should be sexy. She is young, she is beautiful – I would like to create something special for her, but nothing too bold. I would like to prove to the world that Roberto Cavalli can dress a princess. Maybe I would use a print, keeping it young, sophisticated and sexy. Just because you are a queen or princess it doesn’t mean you can’t be sexy.”
While it seems that Cavalli would tame his designs to be fit for a Duchess, we still can’t imagine her sporting animal prints, deep Vs, or high slits any time soon — at least not on Queen Elizabeth’s watch. Still, what we wouldn’t give to see Middleton in some Swarovski-encrusted denim.
