Romeo Beckham Can Model For Burberry, But Not Vogue
If you thought Romeo Beckham‘s first Burberry ad was cute, just wait ’til you see his second.
Beckham is decked out in a metallic purple trench, black bottoms, and matching accessories, and playfully grabs Edie Campbell‘s arm. Campbell poses alongside Cara Delevingne, and the pair wear coordinating ensembles, looking like overly airbrushed mannequins. But of course.
Although Beckham landed himself a swanky Burberry modeling gig, the 10-year-old is definitely not headed to the pages of Vogue anytime soon. According to Condé Nast International and Vogue‘s six-point Health Initiative, Beckham doesn’t meet the 16-year-old age limit for models (not that this is an actual rule, per se), and therefore can’t do his thang for the magazine. However, that doesn’t mean that the mag will vet any advertisements, so Beckham’s Burberry campaign will actually appear in upcoming issues.
British Vogue‘s editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman took to Twitter yesterday to explain:
Romeo Beckham @burberry doesn’t meet Vogue model health initiative criteria of over 16′s only @britishvogue

After her followers grilled her about the guidelines, she wrote:
To clarify Vogue no under sixteen model ban is in pages of our magazine. We don’t control runways or advertising. — Alexandra Shulman (@AShulman2) December 18, 2012
Womp womp. At least he still looks cute! Check it out:
