PHOTOS: What To Make Of Rooney Mara’s Givenchy Gown?
Rooney Mara may well have been the most buzzed about actress going into tonight’s red carpet, but her Givenchy Haute Couture gown from Riccardo Tisci‘s Spring 2009 collection left us surprisingly disappointed.
Like everyone else, she opted for white. And while Tisci’s almost vintage handiwork is a refreshing change from all the strapless necklines and never-ending parade of sequins, something about the bustier just didn’t sit right with us, or with Mara, for that matter. And though her makeup (those lips! those brows!) is untouchable, the end result still fell flat. Mara told Ryan Seacrest she only decided on the gown that morning, which may very well explain everything.
