Here’s Your First Look At Vogue’s November Cover!
Confirming rumors from last month, Rooney Mara is indeed Vogue‘s November cover girl — and the cover is really, really lovely.
Part of the cover’s allure is the fact that Mara isn’t an overly recognizable celebrity. She’s an up-and-comer, and the photo almost looks like that of a fresh-faced model instead of an actress. This is a very, very good thing. If Anna Wintour insists on celeb covers, this is the way to do it. Also, she totally one-uped W.

Somewhat cleverly, the star of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo wears a Ralph Lauren dress with a dragon embroidered on the back. Mara’s makeup is flawless and fall-appropriate, and her pose rules. This really is an arresting cover! We must complain about the excessive amount of teasers, however. As excited as we are to read about Emma Stone and Aerin Lauder, tt’s a shame to cover up such a great photo with mountains of text.

Lest you forget, rumors of a Mara cover were stoked when she sat next to Wintour at Rodarte‘s spring show. We just hope this doesn’t mean Nicki Minaj is all over the December issue.
