While Emma Watson was busy basking in the bronze glow of her show stopping Bottega Veneta number, Sarah Jessica Parker took in the New York premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part Two in a geometric print gown from Oscar de la Renta‘s Resort 2012 collection less than a month after it walked down the runway.

Parker paired the dress with a midnight blue blazer from Ferragamo’s equally new Resort collection as well as an olive green crocodile bucket bag which puts Alexander Wang’s to shame. Also, we love a summertime blazer.

It would look so much better if she lost the purse, fixed her messy hair and showed her legs.

The problem with the dress is the length. Long summer dresses generally look better if you can see a strappy sandal rather than the dress dragging on the ground. The jacket would have looked better were it in linen without a pocket.
