Why Is Sarah Palin’s Hair Salon Getting Its Own Reality Show?

Sarah Palin‘s reality show might not be returning for a second season, but the place where she gets her hair done is heading for its own 15 minutes of fame. The Alaska hair salon credited with giving Palin her signature ‘do is getting its own show. Which, why?

Reuters reports that on the two-part series Big Hair Alaska, TLC‘s cameras will follow the employees of Beehive, the very same place where Palin gets her beehive perfected. Palin’s one-series wonder Sarah Palin’s Alaska was also shown on TLC, so we’ll have to suppose that Big Hair Alaska is an attempt to replace the character of the older show, but without all the negative-attention-grabbing political statements about the First Lady’s obesity initiative. TLC said in a press release that “the personalities of the owner and her staff are as big as the hairstyles they create.” We have no doubt Palin will make a cameo, so we can only imagine what her hairdresser must be like.

The show will air on Sept. 20, just in time for you to fully exit your post-Fashion Week fugue state and start paying attention to the world again.
