  I think Palin is purposefully underlining her distance from the republican establishment and cementing her status as a voice of the people. I think it’s rather smart of her. What other politician thumbs their noses at the rules expected of women? Maybe Clinton and her hair styles. Maybe. Palin just laughs and does her thing. It’s refreshing. I think your catty mean girl ‘let’s talk and rip on Palin’ piece falls flat and makes you sound insipid and dull. Look at her and pretend she’s liberal…..admit it, if she were liberal you and the rest of the press would be discussing how she was iconic….overthrowing the rules a male structure put in place to make sure that women politicians were always the little sex trying to play with the big boys…including and starting with how they dress. Palin is a matriarch in a patriarchal society and she’s having a blast shaking things up.

  Sarah Palin tacky? 
   
  Not only is Sarah Palin not tacky, but she was more qualified than Barack Obama to be PRESIDENT in 2008, and she STILL trumps him – even three years into his presidency - in  executive experience, balancing budgets, energy expertise and understanding economic and monetary issues. 

  And as president, there’s a few things she would NOT have done:
   
  -She would not have instituted Obamacare, which is turning into the nightmare economists predicted it would be.
   
  -She would not have signed off on hundreds of billions of dollars in stimulus money, which we now see was nothing more than a crony-boy payoff, and has done nothing to stimulate the economy, create jobs or ease people’s pain.
   
  -She would not have bailed out the auto companies, which we now understand was nothing more than a power grab and a union payoff, and has done nothing to stimulate GM or Chrysler.
   
  -She would not have given billions of dollars to Petrobras, to fund oil drilling in Brazil, while placing moratoriums on domestic oil production.
   
  -She would not be dictating to Israel where their borders should be, while ignoring our own and allowing hundreds of illegals (many of them criminals) to stream into our country every day.
    
  -She would not be suing the states of Arizona and Alabama for enforcing immigration laws – which are already federal laws on the books – designed to protect the citizens of their states.
   
  -She would not be forcing religious institutions to provide contraception and abortion funding - against their beliefs, and in direct violation of the Constitution.
   
  -She would not have entered a war with Libya without Congressional approval, nor confirmed appointments without Senate approval while the Senate was not in recess, both of which are in direct violation of the Constitution.

  -She would not have invested billions of taxpayer dollars in “green” companies, many of which have gone bankrupt and most of which have proven to be a sham and a waste of money.

  -She would not have hatched the “Fast and Furious” scandal, the ramifications of which are growing daily. 
    
  -She would not have stood there and lied about her administration’s involvement in the increase of oil drilling in the country, when that increase happened on private land – outside of any sphere of influence by our government.
   
  I could go on and on about her not bowing to Middle East leaders, not insulting our allies, not disrespeting and blowing off our troops, not colluding with General Electric, BP, Goldman Sachs and countless other Wall Street firms, not ginning up race and class warfare, not taking campaign money from nasty comedians and misogynistic and foul-mouthed rap stars –  all of which Obama has become a pro at doing.

  But her outfit is tacky, which was actually the point of this whole article/blog.

  Good luck with the whole “Obama is evil” death spiral you’ve worked yourself into.  Hope  you make it through the election.

  Reality Check the whole point of this stupid article was to take a political figure and make them play by fashionista rules. It appears Palin is well aware of the rules and has decided that wearing whatever she damn well pleases is the best uniform for someone who wants to present as beyond the confines of ‘how things are done’. She may look tacky but she also looks like a person confident in themselves and what they believe in. She’s attractive and approachable. For someone political it’s gold.

  As a woman that is a professional and respects a woman that is ‘real’-but I also respect education-this woman goes out of her way to disrespect education and the way women in higher places are looked at—-she purposely winked thru her speech,licked her lips like a porn star…-the men thought it was great-but guess what-her nominee here just lost in a 3-way race-woman voted for someone else……..

  Well, you can see Russia from Alaska. Do some geography homework.  In terms of experience in an executive position and international relations,  at the time of the Obama / McCain campaign she had much more experience than Obama.

  There was never any proof proffered that Sarah Palin travelled to the remote island that provides the only line-of-sight view of Russia from Alaska. So her claim about diplomatic experience based on that was a lie.

  However, some aboriginal Alaskans living on that island can claim international diplomatic experience. Maybe one of them should have been Governor of Alaska.

  As for being bright, Palin has that remarkable 6 year/5 different colleges background. Sooo impressive. The more accurate word for her is “cunning”. And she has 4 school age offspring; there’s no proof that the 3 oldest of them graduated with more than a GED, despite Palin’s claims. And none of them have ever enrolled in college.

  What she actually said was, “Yes, you can see Russia from Alaska.” That has nothing to do with her qualifications at the time, nor did she claim to have viewed Russia from Alaska, nor did she profer any such foolishness as qualifications for anything. You seem to have confused her with Tina Fey who said she can see Russia from her house.
