Scarlett Johansson On Having Kids: ‘It’s Really Not Important To Me’
2012 ended with several major baby announcements for Kate Middleton, Jessica Simpson, and Kim Kardashian. But in a new interview with ELLE UK, cover girl Scarlett Johansson says kids aren’t in her forecast anytime soon.
ScarJo was photographed by Rankin in a winter white Victoria Beckham dress and Manolo Blahnik for Victoria Beckham peep-toe booties, and sporting tousled tresses on the February cover. Of course, given that her ex-husband Ryan Reynolds‘ recently married Blake Lively, and that it’s the February issue, the teaser for her interview is about love.
But Johansson’s views on marriage and children aren’t very romantic or lovey-dovey at all:
“I got married when I was young and it was incredibly romantic and I liked being married, actually. But it is different. It’s hard to put into words. To me, being in a functioning relationship doesn’t mean you have to be married… I never think about marriage. Is that weird? The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me, ‘Would I get married again?’”
The same concept goes for having children:
“It’s really not important to me. It has no relevance to me right now. I’m not having kids anytime soon, I’m in a nice relationship, I’m working a lot, and, like I said, it’s not important to me.”
