Let’s be honest: Scarlett Johansson is pretty incapable of looking straight up bad, but we were pretty torn on her look at Sunday night’s 83rd Annual Academy Awards. Johansson walked the red carpet in a purple lace and column cut frock by Dolce & Gabbana, which she paired with a messy ‘do, burnt orange eyeshadow, and a huge statement ring by Anna Hu.

It’s very pretty but it’s also very boring. There’s nothing worse than being boring. Best or Worst take a stance; you’ll remembered far more for making a fashion statement. I will never forget Helena Bonham Carter wearing differernt colored shoes but I can’t name the so-so people from the Globes. Scarlett Johanssen has been doing red carpets long enough to know better. Maybe she’s gun shy due to previous bad reviews from the Globes. She needs get her act together and wear a dress worthy of her beauty.
