PHOTO: Serena Williams Goes For Gold At Wimbledon Winners’ Ball
Wimbledon is a sporty event, but it’s also a fashion-y event where one can spot Anna Wintour in the stands and watch athletes run around in lots of expensive things. So naturally we must discuss five-time title winner Serena Williams‘ championship dress.
Williams went to the 2012 Winners’ Ball at the InterContinental Park Lane Hotel in London last night wearing a gold cocktail dress and black studded Louboutins. The curve-hugging frock (whose color was kind of similar to the swimsuit she wore on the cover of Vogue) had a sweetheart neckline, with a mesh top and sleeves. It was flattering and pretty, if not a total show stopper. Overall, it was a safe, yet solid choice, and it certainly went well with the gilded Venus Rosewater Dish trophy.
What do you think of Serena’s dress? We’d say she was outshone by the impeccable Duchess of Cambridge, though we’re not exactly the most impartial judges when Kate the Great is involved. And now, on to the next round of sporty, fashion-y extravaganzas: the Olympics!
