PHOTOS: Is This The Cast Of The Sex And The City Prequel?

Earlier this year, rumors swirled that fashionista du jour Blake Lively would be playing Carrie Bradshaw in a third Sex and the City feature film based on Candace Bushnell’s best-selling prequel book, The Carrie Diaries. Lively’s rep quickly shot those rumors down, but now we hear Lively may indeed be starring in the movie — just not as the title character.

According to The Daily Mail, the title honors go to Elizabeth Olsen — younger sister to fellow actresses-turned-design duo Mary Kate and Ashley.

Miranda Hobbes will be played by Emma Roberts, Charlotte York by Selena Gomez, and Lively apparently nabbed the role of uber-sexed Samantha Jones.

1.Elizabeth Olsen as Carrie Bradshaw

Carrie: Originally from the Midwest, a young Miss Bradshaw travels to New York as an aspiring writer - minus the Manolos, the girlfriends and tangled romances.

2.Selena Gomez as Charlotte York

Charlotte: Barely featured in the prequel books although she is sure to appear more frequently in the films, author Candace said of Selena: 'She’d make a really good young Charlotte.’

3.Emma Roberts as Miranda Hobbs

Miranda: Politically minded Miranda meets Carrie while she is protesting outside department store Barneys. The young Miss Bradshaw is on a shopping spree... Cue differences of opinion.

4.Blake Lively as Samantha Jones

Samantha: Originally in a long-term relationship before going on the rampage, steady Samantha looks after a young Carrie when she first arrives in New York, showing her the ropes.

Wait…isn’t Samantha like 10 years older than the other ladies? If Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda are teens, then Sam should be in her 20s. And 20-somethings don’t hang out with teenagers.

blake can’t play samantha for 2 reasons, the first one being the size of her rack. the second being that she doesn’t have the forcefulness of Kim Catrall. At best she’s a whiney teen version of Carrie on her bad days
