First Indian Woman Poses For Playboy, Calls It An ‘Achievement’

A relatively unknown Bollywood actress by the name of Sherlyn Chopra is making history as the first Indian woman to strip down for Playboy. How’d she skyrocket to naked fame? By writing to the mag that she wanted to. So this is how people are getting famous these days — by literally asking for it.

Playboy‘s Hugh Hefner tweeted that the 28-year-old will appear in the upcoming November issue. According to the BBC, Chopra “had written to Playboy expressing an interest in posing — and the magazine got back to her ‘within three to four days’”. The print version of Playboy is banned in India, but people can still obviously access content on the internet.

Chopra proudly calls posing a great “achievement” :

“I have become the first Indian to pose naked for Playboy and nobody can take away that achievement from me. My sister is proud of my achievement. I haven’t told anything to my mother, but I think I will visit her and tell her that she has to accept me the way I am. I had fun meeting [Hugh Hefner] and his girlfriends. I am thinking of making him my idol because he lives his life on his terms and conditions. I also live my life on my terms and conditions.”

While we’re all for going after your dreams and striving to do what makes you happy, posing for Playboy after a letter campaign is hardly an “achievement”.
