Is Solange Knowles’ Afro A Flight Security Risk?

One thing we love about Solange Knowles is her natural hair, but it looks like the Transportation Security Administration does not. Earlier today, Knowles tweeted that the TSA searched her afro at the airport.

The “Losing You” singer tweeted:

The link goes to a 2011 CBS article about the TSA patting down a Dallas woman’s afro on a train platform at Hartsfield-Jackson International airport in Atlanta. Making light of the situation, Knowles followed up with a slightly amused set of tweets:

Her followers answered with hilarious gems like “Romney’s actual 5 point plan” and “The Proud Family”. Of course, there was nothing in Knowles’ hair and she got on her flight without a(nother) hitch.

    The whole point is that racist are having a field day ‘F”inking with black women hair. it’s a running joke for them. It’s like being molested and it is happening too much for my taste. Other women who are not black have huge wigs and hair extentions and not harrass.
