WATCH: The SRSLY Girls Land An Internship Interview With Refinery29
Everyone here at Styleite has had to cut their teeth at some sort of internship before, but it’s safe to say that none of our interviews involved knowing our interviewer’s real name, or social media stats. The funny ladies behind SRSLY, however, did have to rattle off facts like nobody’s business in their hilarious spoof with Refinery29. How do the girls get it right every single time?
For their faux internship interview with Refinery29, Danielle Gibson and Alex Fiber are given hasty office tours and told of the less-than-ideal job requirements by the site’s global editor Connie Wang, NY editor Annie Georgia Greenberg, and marketing associate Alex Gurule. Gibson and Fiber then sit down for an intense interview with the three editors, and are grilled about Wang’s real name, where Gurule cuts her hair, and the number of Twitter followers R29 has. Of course, none of this happens in a real internship interview, but the spoof nails just how intimidating an interviewer can seem to a girl who’s just trying to get her foot in the door.
