PHOTOS: The Emmys Style Evolution Of Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Earlier this week, Julia Louis-Dreyfus made history when the 2013 Emmy nominations were released and -surprise!- she had been nominated again for her role as Vice President Selina Meyer on HBO’s Veep. This marked Louis-Dreyfus’s fourteenth Emmy nomination, and it meant she had finally surpassed Lucille Ball as the most Emmy-nominated comedic actress of all time.
Her decades of lighting up the small screen have been memorable to say the least, but unfortunately her fashion choices have not been as spot-on as her career. While we’d never call out Elaine Benes for her puffy hair, white ankle socks, and sensible shoes, even the most hardcore Seinfeld fan can’t deny that she’s come a long way in terms of red carpet style. Though full-length velvet gloves might have seemed like a great idea in 1994, we can all agree it’s for the best that they’ve been exchanged for elegant, flattering gowns and less intense lip liner.
Below are some of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s most memorable Emmy red carpet looks from the last twenty years. Though there are some serious misses, these days she is very much the master of her fashion domain.
