Lindsey Wixson Covers The First Issue Of Style.com Magazine

On Halloween, the first issue of Style.com’s print magazine will hit newsstands. The magazine features a closeup cover of 17-year-old model Lindsey Wixson, a 23-page photo essay of her shot by rumored boyfriend and publishing progeny Theo Wenner, a comprehensive roundup of the Spring 2012, and a bunch of other fun goodies — but will the web fashion behemoth translate properly to print?

The cover is bare, but for a quote from Wixson who is, we’d like to remind you, just 17. It reads:

The night after the shoot I had like blue hair in finger waves and I went to meet Marilyn at Nobu and when I walked in they thought I was Charlize Theron. Oh and I also did go-sees for Calvin Klein. I showed up and the guy was like what have you been modeling for a minute? And I was like, yeah.

The New York Times tsked that the quote “suggests she will never be known as the Joan Didion of her trade,” but we think its actually a great example of translating the web voice to print. It’s grabby, it’s descriptive of Wixson, and most importantly, it’s tongue in cheek.
