WATCH: Karl Lagerfeld’s Full Film The Tale Of The Fairy
We’re starting to wonder if Karl Lagerfeld is only doing this fashion thing to fund and fuel his real passion: movies. Between Rachel Bilson eating ice cream, Baptiste mugging awkwardly for the Hogan-sponsored camera, and the time Karl’s favorite models danced, drank, and deejayed for his famous lens, the man has become a veritable Zeferelli — depending on your taste, of course. And now his most recent project is here: a 30-minute short film called, “The Tale Of A Fairy,” which may be his best work to date.
Karl described it as “a movie about an ill-advised use of money which begins with violence and ends with feeling” and after watching the preview last week, we wrote:
From what we can surmise, Kristen McMenamy is the one with the money troubles, and Baptiste Giabiconi plays her godson who she may be kissing. Freja Beha Erichson plays the sometimes-topless fairy in question, who tells McMenamy, “I am nobody. I can change it all.” She then proceeds to share some tender kisses with Anna Mouglalis. Amanda Harlech and Mark Vanderloo are also involved in all of this.
Turns out that’s pretty much exactly what this movie is about. Though there’s a nice twist featuring Freja at the end. She may be the best actress of the lot. Oh, and it looks like everyone is wearing Chanel’s 2011-2012 Cruise collection because, well, duh.
Watch it (in two parts) below because, well, who doesn’t have 30 minutes to kill on a Wednesday afternoon?
