We’re by no means jumping off the Kate Middleton bandwagon, but after probing the next royal bride, Tatiana Santo Domingo, and discovering that she’s essentially a modern day Marissa Berenson, we’re thinking that the Duchess of Cambridge needs to step up her game.
Santo Domingo has been engaged to Grace Kelly’s grandson Andrea Casiraghi, son of Princess Caroline of Monaco, for a year and the two have finally set their wedding date for August 31. Naturally, as soon as we heard another royal wedding was on the horizon, it was imperative we survey her personal style. And we have to say, it seems the monarchy has a real sovereign hippie on their hands.
For starters, Santo Domingo’s style paragon is the late Yves Saint Laurent muse Loulou de la Falaise, who was known for her uninhibited style and for inspiring the women’s tuxedo (for which we too, worship at her altar). She also happens to be kindred style spirits with fellow heiress Margherita Missoni, as the two can often be seen out and about in designer bohemian confections. When she’s not romping around glamorous parties, she’s dedicated to her own fashion line, Muzungu Sisters. The fashion venture, a collaboration with Dana Alikhani, specializes in handmade artisan garments, with an ethical business model to boot. Lastly, her aunt is none author than Lauren Santo Domingo, who has no doubt bestowed her with an intuition for haute couture and blue-ribbon etiquette.
To help you get well-versed with Santo Domingo and her intrepid style, we’ve rounded up some of her most fashionable looks. We’d be lying if we said they weren’t going straight to our mood board.
