The Obama Family Travels To Hawaii In Style

Making it home for the holidays can be a major headache, what with cancelled flights, hour-long airport lines, and icy, traffic-jammed roads. Of course, things get a little easier when you have Air Force One at your disposal.

The Obama family is spending Christmas break in the President’s hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii, and the whole clan took off Saturday to spend some time kicking back in the sunny state. Don’t you wish your winter holidays could be spent on a beach? Yeah, us too.

But while airports across the country are clogged with people in college hoodies and ratty sweatpants, the first family pulled a Kate Middleton and proved that there’s no reason not to stay chic, even in the sky. Michelle wore a black and beige printed sundress, while Sasha chose a floral cap-sleeved tee and a pair of black shorts. Malia boarded in a sweatshirt and oversized blazer, but shed the layers in time for the warm temps down south, revealing a peach striped button-down.

Of course, the trip hasn’t been all fun, sun, and relaxation — it also hit a somber note yesterday when Michelle and Barack attended the funeral for Senator Daniel Inouye, a war veteran, Hawaiian hero, and friend.
