The Print-Drenched Mario Testino x Net-a-Porter Collaboration is Coming
There’s a new way to display your affections for Mario Testino’s work. The legendary lensman has joined forces with Net-a-Porter on a capsule collection called MATE.
The line was born from Testino’s recent Alta Moda exhibition, which provides a raw look at the natives of his colorful homeland, Peru. It was from the exhibition’s images that the photographer created the vibrant prints that decorate the collection. The pieces include bags, scarves, kaftans, and accessories by Vicki Beamon of Erickson Beamon, who practiced traditional Peruvian handicrafts.
“We are huge fans of Mario’s photography and are delighted to be able to offer our customers the opportunity to wear his works of art,” said Holli Rogers, Fashion Director of Net-a-Porter. “The color and detail in the Peruvian costumes are unbelievable and this has paved the way for a fun range of clothing, bags and jewelry.”
Testino’s pieces not only capture the essence of Peruvian culture, but contribute to it as well. The collection will benefit his institution MATE, which he founded last summer to celebrate and support the work of his fellow Peruvian artists.
The collection will be available early June on net-a-porter.com with 20% of profits going to MATE.
