The Week In Review: June 7 to June 11
They say you can’t know where you’re going until you realize where you’ve been. With that in mind, we’re taking a glance back. The past week has been a roller coaster of fashion news and events — and luckily, we were there to catch the good, the bad and the ugly.
On Monday we went to the MTV Movie Awards with the cast of The Jersey Shore, then later in the day we recapped the big winners at the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards. And then we talked about 4chan.
On Wednesday we talked about the future of New York’s garment district with Tim Gunn and Yeohlee Teng, then we discovered how Brazilian supermodels get discovered, and Gucci announced that it had plans to go Green.
Thursday revealed a new men’s wear outpost from the great minds behind Net-a-Porter and a stack of memos from Diana Vreeland. The world’s oldest shoe was discovered in Armenia, and we analyzed the changing canvas that is Lady Gaga‘s face.
Friday was a good day. We finally figured out what we’re going to get our dads for Father’s Day, and we discovered an awesome capsule collection with a cause: South Africa’s economy. Our friends over at SportsGrid discovered that Ray Allen wears green toenail polish, and Megan Fox looked ultra foxy on the cover of Interview.
And now, we’re getting ready for a whole new week of covering runways, retail, media and beauty news. Stay tuned!
