PHOTOS: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly On Last Night’s Red Carpets
We’ve already seen lots of fabulous looks at the Toronto International Film Festival, but last night’s showing wasn’t quite as strong as the past few. On the bright side, that gives us much to discuss.
One of our highlights of the night was Emma Watson in Erdem at the premiere of “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower”. The peplum, the thematic floral embroideries, the simple black pumps and silver cuffs…it all came together perfectly. And her short hair looked precious enough to silence all the haters. Just lovely.
Other favorites: Nina Dobrev also worked it at “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower” in a gorgeous strapless gown with a subtle train and a pretty updo. Kate Hudson stunned in Alexander McQueen, and America Ferrera looked pretty fantastic as well.
We saw two looks from Jennifer Lawrence, and they were on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. The dress she wore to the “Silver Linings Playbook” premiere was just bad. It seems like the type of garment that looks really cool and artsy on a hanger (we actually like the idea of the sort of soft, watery colorblocking effect), and then not so hot on an actual body. It also didn’t look pressed, and the long, stick-straight, ultra-dark hair made everything look way too harsh. This look just didn’t work for us. However, she completely made up for it with the pitch-perfect white cocktail dress and soft waves that she wore to the photo call. Love!
Our least favorite of the night was definitely Ambyr Childers. The dress wasn’t flattering and, to us, looked cheap. The total lack of accessories didn’t help matters. Better luck next time! Click through the gallery to see how Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow, Anna Kendrick, and more turned out.
