Tim Gunn entered the daytime TV arena with The Revolution, and today he tearfully discussed his sex life on the ABC talk show.

While the episode has not yet been uploaded to the show’s site, Celebuzz reports that the 58-year-old revealed he’s been celibate for 29 years.

With tears in his eyes, he revealed a past “intense” relationship caused him to become celibate. “I’m a perfectly fulfilled person… but it’s very physiological,” he said.

Why?

Gunn revealed that an ex-partner ended the relationship abruptly and caused him to give up sex. “He was impatient with my sexual performance,” Gunn said, trying to hold back tears.

Gunn made sure to note that he does not ”feel like less of a person because of it…I’m happy to be healthy and alive, frankly.” Still, this breaks our heart. If you’ll recall, Gunn made an incredibly moving It Gets Better video in which he discussed a teenage suicide attempt.

I personally believe that he is living a healthy life. It is better than trying to be sexually active because that is what others are doing. He is abstaining sexually like many many single as well as married people are doing. So, I guess he is truly a healthy person.
