TIME WARP: This Is How Women Applied Their Makeup In The ’40s

In the spirit of Sunday Funday, here’s a little clip that’s just for fun: a vintage makeup video tutorial from the 1940s. This is how our grandmothers did it!
Watch as the video’s makeup expert instructs young girls on how to apply their rouge, vanishing cream, and powder. Some of the advice still applies today, like “lipstick is your exclamation point. Use it sparingly, but well.” But for the most part, we think we’ll stick with Jemma Kidd‘s tips instead. Check it out:
