TIME WARP: Platform Shoes ‘Ridiculous’ and ‘Highly Dangerous’

We shudder to think how these newscasters would have reacted if they had the chance to see Lady Gaga‘s shoe collection.

We may now think of platform shoes as being inextricably linked with the 1970s, but that doesn’t mean their arrival was welcomed with open arms by all. Watch below as a perplexed reporter tries to get to the bottom of the phenomenon by interviewing platform loyalists, medical experts, and one cantankerous old man who deem the shoes “ridiculous” and “highly dangerous”.

Our favorite part of the video, however, has to be when he asks a shaggy-haired interviewee who he would say is in the market for such shoes.“The manager to the drug store,” for one, he answers, “because he mixes with trendy people.”

Obviously Walgreens was a much chicer place in the 1970s.

The cantankerous old man was right. 1970′s or today, platforms & wedgies have to be the ugliest shoe ever made.
Women who wear the ugly suckers, including Lady Gaga, don’t look fashionable, they look just like the old man said in the 70′s, rediculous.
