Toddlers And Tiaras Mom Sues News Outlets That ‘Sexualized’ Her Daughter
Don’t mess with hypocritical pageant moms. The mother of the very same Toddlers And Tiaras contestant who called one of her opponents a hooker has filed a libel suit a number of news outlets for sexualizing her daughter in their coverage.

Susanna Barrett, mother to 5-year-old T&T star Isabella Barrett, filed a lawsuit against TMZ, The Huffington Post and The Daily Mail for posting videos of her daughter dancing to LMFAO‘s Sexy And I Know It in the DJ booth of a New York City club called Libation. Barrett doesn’t have a problem with the video being out there, but rather the way her daughter’s dancing is described in it. TMZ posted the video, and writers for the Post and the Mail described Isabella’s movements as “inappropriate” and “obscene.” Susanna rebuts that claim in the court papers.
“Isabella Barrett did not act or portray herself sexually, erotically or provocatively; she was not ‘gyrating’ at a ‘nightclub’ or singing ‘about her sex appeal.”
“On the contrary, it is the defendants who, through their articles, have thrust these false and vulgar characteristics on to Isabella.”
“As a result, Isabella is now perceived sexually, erotically and pornographically,” and the articles “have placed Isabella in serious physical danger, attracting the attention of others who would seek to sexualize a child.”
To be completely fair on both sides, we took a look at the video and included it below. Susanna says the Libation event benefitted for a pet charity, and in the video Isabella really only seems to be bopping around a little, not gyrating at all. Still, what parent takes drags their child to a nightclub for any reason and thinks they’re going to be safely shielded from things only adults understand?
