Could U.K. Model Tolula Adeyemi Be Karl’s New Girl?

Tolula Adeyemi might not be an instantly recognizable face here in the U.S., but, if rumors are true, things could be about to change for the 26-year old model. Nothing is confirmed, but sources say the leggy Nigerian-born lass has come to the attention of fashion zeitgeist, Karl Lagerfeld — and he’s smitten. “Tolula is due to meet up with Karl in Paris soon. This deal could be the start of something truly fabulous,” said a source.

In her native U.K., Adeyemi has been on “It Girl” ascent for some time. Scouted in Topshop at the age of 17, in a few years she’s carved out a pretty good career in both film and fashion, with Vivienne Westwood among her loyal fans.

But, it’s no secret that a Chanel campaign means boatloads of exposure and an international career. And with her thousand watt smile, joie de vive and insanely enviable personal style, we think Tolula could be a completely fresh choice. Moreover, don’t you think it’s time Karl injected a little more diversity into his coterie of cover girls? Because, Vanessa Paradis’ grin aside, we all get a little tired of the gap. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
