PHOTOS: V Magazine’s Winter Covers Are Cool, Colorful, & Model-Friendly

We’re pretty much the presidents of the Models Instead Of Celebrities On Magazine Covers Club (MIOOMCC), so we’re all about the Carine Roitfeld-styled covers for the winter issue of V Magazine.

According to WWD, models haven’t graced the front of the glossy in two years. Now eight models of the moment decked out in crazy colorful resort duds (and leis!) span four different covers shot by Terry Richardson. Explains Roitfeld:

“It’s a big moment of change in fashion. In some cases, you feel like it’s the end of an era. I have been feeling this with cover subjects, and especially models. These eight girls are unique, not one is like the other. Candice is the only blonde and blue-eyed of this new generation of supermodels. Joan is black, Sui He is Asian, Hanna is North African. It’s their diversity that makes each of them, to me, truly modern. They bring a new energy to fashion.”

You are so right. I’m another crusader for Models Instead of Celebrities on the Covers of Magazines. Wouldn’t it be nice if some of my favorite fashion magazines followed suit? The V covers are gorgeous. The women are gorgeous. They work hard for their money. Let’s give them back their milieu.
