PHOTOS: Who Made Vanity Fair’s Annual Best Dressed List?
The only publication out there that might be able to give Vogue’s September tome a run for its money is Vanity Fair’s annual Best Dressed issue — and it’s finally here. Traditionally filled with no shortage of obscure European royals, rich white ladies, and a designer or seven, the list purports to anoint the who’s who of wearing clothing. So who made this year’s list?
Lady Gaga is back as is Carey Mulligan, and Styleite fave Tilda Swinton makes a glorious return after a two year hiatus. Both newly appointed royals Princess Charlene of Monaco and the Duchess Catherine of Cambridge snagged a spot — though the latter first made the list back in 2008 when she was still known as Kate Middleton. Former model Andrea Dellal is on there and if the name sounds familiar, it’s because she’s mother to red carpet It girls Alice and Charlotte Dellal.
Carla Bruni was a shoo-in as was Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser of Qatar — have you seen those head wraps? And while we don’t have the full list yet, the men folk had some interesting nominees, including Brian Williams — he wears nice ties, we suppose — and chef extraordinaire Marcus Samuelsson.
Take a look and tell us what you think of their picks — and if you’re wondering how this whole list works, click here. Basically, it involves some really fancy stationary.
