Vivienne Westwood Thinks Kate Middleton’s Eye Makeup Is Terrible
Vivienne Westwood is always good for a memorable sound bite or five, so it’s no surprise that her recent interview with the Sunday Times Magazine included quite a few bon mots.
For one, she’s not too keen on our favorite Duchess. (Relatedly, remember when Viv thought Prince William should wear lipstick?)
“I think she’s got a problem with eye makeup! The sharp line around her eyes make her look hard. Either she should be smudgy or wear none…Let me put it this way. It seems to me, that her image is ‘ordinary woman’. Therefore, high street shopper. And I just think she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from.”
Whatever, we still think the former Kate Middleton rules, and we love that she does her own makeup.
Westwood also has some thoughts on that other newlywed named Kate. She says Kate Moss‘s wedding was “the best party we’ve ever been to”, and that John Galliano “looked very well” at the festivities. Alas, she thinks the supermodel “wears too much vintage”. Oh, Viv. You slay us.
