PHOTOS: Vogue Italia‘s ‘Black Allure’ Spread Is Stunning

We know we throw a lot of flak in the direction of Franca Sozzani‘s confusing blog posts, but we can’t deny the woman knows how to run a magazine. Her groundbreaking, controversial all-black issue made major waves, and she’s following it up with a new spread called The Black Allure, which features black models exclusively.

And while there are few things that excite us more than getting to see Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn getting their glamour on, we’re also really moved that Sozzani would choose to do another feature. Because it means that gorgeous pages filled with gorgeous dark-skinned women isn’t something that will only happen once. And the more color we can get into fashion editorials (color not referring to something bright and manufactured by Prada), the better.

    dark & depressing..between the dark colors of garments the room lighting,
    and the gloomy expressions it reminds me of the great depression or a scene
    from an inappropriately dressed great tragedy.

    Integration not segregation. I find these “black” spreads insulting.

    That is why we have to take our Q’s from other Countries. There is neither anything dark or depressing about this collage of Georgous Sisters, it”s remenancing of an era when black was decadant, seductive,powerful and in Vogue (in charge). Integrate I think not, Why should these sisters have to share the spotlight? Looks to me like they are more than capable of bringing the sunshine all by themselves, looking forward to the next spread. I applaud this edition and my sisters as they take it to the bank.
