Which Royal Is On The Cover Of Vogue Paris‘ September Issue?

It’s officially the year of the royals.

We’ve spent a good part of the year fawning over Duchess Catherine and Princess Charlene, and Vogue Paris has taken notice. It looks like Emmanuelle Alt has taken a page out of Anna Wintour‘s book, putting a celebrity close-up on the cover of the French fashion bible. Granted, Charlotte Casiraghi isn’t an actress or pop star — she’s a member of the royal family of Monaco. Grace Kelly‘s granddaughter is incredibly stunning, as evidenced by Mario Testino‘s cover shot.

What do you think of the cover? Boring or beautiful?

Emanuelle Alt managed to turn Vogue Paris from an inspiring visual magazine to an ELLE France

Charlotte is young and amazingly beautiful. . . So, why in the world did they put enough makeup on this child to cover every woman in Monaco’s “royal” family??  It’s ridiculous.  Put her on the cover with minimal makeup and allow the public to see how naturally beautiful this young woman is.

P.S.:  I put “royal” in quotes because, in my book, those degenerates in Monaco don’t deserve the title of royal!!  Especially with Fat Albert at the helm.

Just curious, why are they “degenerates”?  I get teh Stephanie thing, but Caroline?  Charlotte?

You’re right to put “royal” in quotes but not for the reason you might think. :) The House of Grimaldi is not “royal” in any sense. They are the PRINCELY family of Monaco, or in French: Famille Princier de Monaco. They are Serene Highnesses, not royal, except Caroline, and she’s only HRH by her third marriage. Which seems to be heading for divorce anyway…….. I agree with you about Charlotte having too much makeup! She doesn’t need it! Good point!!!!!

I don’t have much good to say about Albert & Charlene, so I don’t say much, but I don’t regard the Grimaldis as degenerates, per say. They’re OK. I like Stephanie, actually. She seems very real to me. I like Caroline and her children, especially Andrea. He seems like he’s going places, and he’s doing it quietly, unlike Charlotte. :)

I like Stephanie too, but I thought ms lewis might be referring to Stephanie. I have no idea why ms lewis calls these folks “degenerate.”  And I am pretty sure that the “royal” was put in quotes not because ms lewis has a clue what she is saying, but because she was making a nasty comment.
