W Magazine Scales Back To Ten Issues A Year
Ch-ch-changes! W Magazine is getting on the corporate bandwagon of scaling back print publications, and announced on Thursday that it would be cutting down to ten issues a year instead of its current status as a monthly magazine.
Publisher Lucy Kriz told WWD that “this is an intentional and strategic move to invest in the future of W, and there is no better time to do that than when you’re in a position of strength.” The new setup will apparently “free up resources for us to double down and go big on what matters most — big issues and digital,” she stated.
We’re sad to have less W to hold in our hands, but looking forward to the revamped website that is slated to launch in May. And it’s not too big of a surprise — Harper’s Bazaar recently made the same decision.
