WATCH: Jonah Hill Copes With Fame in Hilarious SNL Monologue

Come on, who doesn’t love Jonah Hill? Like the fans of some indie rock band before they made it big, we’ve been rooting for Jonah Hill since way before he was popular. We still love (and constantly reference) his breakout performance in 40 Year Old Virgin. As a perturbed customer in the ‘We Sell Your Stuff On eBay Store’ who just wants to pay for a pair of sparkly boots with goldfish in the heels, Hill made us laugh and cry. Since then he’s risen through the Judd Apatow ranks, holding court with some of comedy’s best like Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd ans Jason Segal. But of course it was the “comedic actor turned serious” role in Money Ball that won him a nomination at this year’s Academy Awards, something we like to call the Jim Carrey syndrome.

Although Hill eventually lost the award to film legend Christopher Plummer, he definitely put himself on the mainstream map. So to kick off his second time hosting Saturday Night Live, last night Hill took the time to explore how his newly minted fame has changed him, if at all. And although SNL has generally been above average this past season, this may take the cake as the best monologue so far. Bonus points for the surprise cameo at the end!

I’m not a big fan of Jonah Hill, but I did think that 21 Jump Street was hilarious. It can be said that I was expecting more from this episode of SNL. Though it wasn’t as good as Maya Rudolph, it was a bit better than Lindsay Lohan’s hosting. My favorite skit was Weekend Update, which of course didn’t include Hill. I watched it while I was on lunch at DISH where I work, and I wish this episode of SNL was better. Recent hosts haven’t been so great. I know Sofia Vergara is the next host, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing her.

Thanks so much for post, I may remark I did the matching thing while I got the equivalent drawback as the one that is writing.
