WATCH: Just Cavalli Stages A Revolution For Fall 2013 Campaign
At first glance, the hot off the press Just Cavalli fall campaign looks like it’s a scene out of the late ’60s with twenty-somethings holding protest wearing hallucinatory prints à la Barbara Hulanicki. But take a closer look and you’ll find that the SWAT team members have suspiciously chiseled cheekbones, the “protestors” are too busy canoodling, and instead of ‘Make Love, Not War’ signs, the bunches are picketing on behalf of getting ‘Just Naked’ and being ‘Just Young’.
Thanks to Grazia UK, we have the real story, which is that models Dominik Bauer, Rodolfo Zanforlini, Ben Hunter, Karlina Caune, Julia Frauche, and Manon Leloup helped stage a ‘fashion revolution’ in Barcelona with Giampaolo Sgura capturing it all from behind his lens. While we’re sure a faux protest at the hands of someone like Roberto Cavalli might ruffle a few feathers, but we can certainly vouch for the the oriental-printed threads. The long-sleeved mini-dresses, shift coats, faux fur shag, and silk head wraps are just about as swinging sixties as it gets.
This said, we’re disappointed that Georgia May Jagger didn’t appear in the campaign as she looked at one with the designs closing the Just Cavalli show last season and the looks are totally reminiscent of her dad and The Stones’ during the real psychedelic era.
