WATCH: The Making Of The Pirelli Calendar
The annual Pirelli calendar is usually very, very naked, but this year’s is quite the opposite. Instead Steve McCurry, who lensed the iconic “Portrait of a Girl with Green Eyes” National Geographic cover, photographed philanthropic models like Karlie Kloss, Liya Kebede, pregnant Adriana Lima, and more — all fully-clothed. A few shots from the calendar are already out, and now we’ve got a beautiful behind-the-scenes look of McCurry at work.
In the video below, we find out why McCurry chose to shoot in Rio de Janeiro, how he and his team deal with the area’s tropical rainstorms, and how the models feel about wearing actual clothes for the calendar.
