ANTM Winner Whitney Thompson Is Launching A Plus-Size Dating Site

The career trajectory of a successful model is usually pretty straightforward. Occasionally, if said model is particularly lucky or adept at transformation, vogueing segues into acting or singing or designing. But America’s Next Top Model winner Whitney Thompson (who, let’s be real, had the decks stacked against her from the start with that tile), may be the first model to transition into the online dating biz.

According to the New York Post, Thompson is launching a plus-sized dating site, to fill a void she found when she signed up for online dating herself.

“[When] I would [call myself] a ‘plus-sized model’ . . . guys would expect me to be a really big girl. But if I said, ‘I’m a model,’ [they were] disappointed that I’m bigger. Either way, I wasn’t what the guy was looking for,” she says. The site launches this week. Members pay $40 a month and indicate whether they’re after a relationship or a hook-up. “Curvy girls like sex, too,” says Thompson, who’s repped by Whilhelmina and launched jewelry and candles company Supermodel.

Thompson is definitely on to something — we only wish the people at AshleyMadison.com were taking note. Earlier this year, the adultery website based an entire ad campaign around the idea that men don’t want to have sex with non-skinny ladies, particularly their wives. More power to Thompson — we wish her plenty of success.
