Add The Women & Fashion FilmFest To Your Weekend Agenda, Like Now
Who runs the world? Like we even have to ask.
This weekend’s inaugural Women & Fashion FilmFest assumes Beyoncé is right — when is she not? — and brings together two girl-centric industries for a weekend of screenings, meaningful conversation, and potential schmoozing with the likes of Patricia Field and Pat Cleveland.
June 8th and 9th in New York City, the festival will offer panel discussions with industry leaders on hyper-relevant topics like “Defining Beauty: The Role of Fashion & Media & The Impact on Women of All Ages” to follow showings of documentaries such as Girl Model and About Face: Supermodels, Then & Now, as well as the James Franco-directed short film Walking After Midnight, starring Petra Nemcova.
If the sweeping gowns and almost-palpable feminine strength at Wednesday’s launch party were any indication of what’s to come, it’ll be worth your while to block out a few hours between brunch and Game of Thrones to catch a flick and learn a thing or two.
