TIME WARP: 24-Year-Old Janice Dickinson Tells It Like It Is

Janice Dickinson may be an unabashed fan of plastic surgery, but the self-proclaimed “first supermodel” hasn’t changed a whole lot since she was a mere 20-something.

Back in 1980, the then 24-year-old Dickinson sat down to dish on her career (which netted her a quarter of a million dollars a year) and the industry (“It’s not exciting, it’s not glamorous.”). Yes, back then she still had a whole lot of things to say. We even get an origin story of sorts! She left home to pursue modeling in an effort to get away from her Quaalude-taking, weed-smoking friends in Florida, only to encounter tons of people who didn’t want to hire her in New York. But, hey, she made it!
