PHOTOS: ‘Fresh’ Styling Tips From Zanna Roberts Rassi
Is there anything more cheerful than wearing a head-to-toe mashup of brights and neons on a blustery evening? According to Zanna Roberts Rassi and Joe Fresh, absolutely not. The Canadian label celebrated the first anniversary of its Fifth Avenue flagship on Wednesday evening, and recruited Marie Claire’s senior fashion editor to style 20 industry insiders like Mickey Boardman, Ari Seth Cohen, Cory Kennedy, and more in some seriously fresh wares. And lucky for you, dear reader, we picked up some easy styling tips.
Her first is, obviously, hit up Joe Fresh. “The great thing about their separates is that you can put any combination together, and they pretty much work,” Roberts Rassi explained. “If you’re going on vacation and you have nothing to pack, you can come here and fill your suitcase for under $200. Almost all the prints and colors work with each other, and they all work with anything.”
And indeed they did. Roberts Rassi was sporting a nautical-themed outfit in a printed navy top and loose, cream-colored pants, while Boardman, Cohen, Kennedy, and others worked bold ensembles in every eye-popping color of the rainbow. Of course, no party would be complete without a mini-runway show, and the fashion crew rode the escalators inside the store à la Louis Vuitton spring 2013. We loved that, unlike so many runway shows, this one had diversity — and lots of it.
Roberts Rassi may have been the one behind the styling, but she left us with one last tip: personal style is all about dressing for one’s own, well, personality. “Every personality has almost a color.”
