LISTEN: ‘All My Lovers’ by Starchild

If you’ve ever been to a Solange show you were probably being mesmerized by her swaying hair and her two syllable-worthy shorts rather than her backing band. I didn’t even really think about her having one, but duh. Any, amongst it is one 19-year-old Brooklynite guitarist who goes by Starchild, and has also collaborated with Blood Orange and Chairlift’s Patrick Wimberly.

Starchild is also a maker of soulful tunes in  his own right, and just has just released the video for a particularly magnetic one called “All My Lovers.” In it he wears an array of outfits, which according to The Fader are visual homages to his key influences: Sade, Prince, Terence Trent D’Arby, and Morrissey. It makes me weirdly hungry for a plate of semi-abandoned diner fries.
