These Beyoncé-Covering String Musicians Are Your New Style Icons

At last week’s Opening Ceremony resort presentation, two girls stole the show, and no—they weren’t models.

Charly and Margaux are a violin and viola-playing duo who go by “Chargaux,” and they played live music at the show. Their set included string covers of Beyoncé’s “Partition,” Pharrell‘s “Happy, “Kanye West’s “Flashing Lights,” and Rihanna’s “Only Girl.” And everyone agreed: their covers rivaled the originals.

According to The Cut, the pair have been playing music together for three years, and they’re set to release a first EP, called “Broke and Baroque,” on Monday, through Opening Ceremony. Their success is pretty sudden. Apparently, their discovery came from a chance encounter in New York, as Margaux explains. “Opening Ceremony heard us play in the subway. We play in the subway, you know, to get our name out.”

We imagine they won’t be in the subways for long, as it seems they’re well on their way to fame  (even though their style is a little off the beaten path). If you visit their website, CharlyandMargaux.com. These girls are not only talented musicians, they’re hella stylish. Check out these inspirational Instagram photos:

Watch out, Lorde. It looks like the fashion world may soon have some new favorites.
