WATCH: They Just Don’t Make Jean Ads Like They Used To

We’re suckers for a good Time Warp, but usually for more nostalgic and/or impassioned reasons. This Wrangler jeans commercial from the ’80s is just, well, strange.

Set to a vaguely electronic and/or robotic beat, the video opens with two mannequins knitting in front of a television. That scene transforms into a photograph which is being ripped in two by a female model who, according to her YouTube page, is named Barbie Wilde and appeared in Hellbound: Hellraiser II and Death Wish III as a “female cenobite” and “vicious mugger,” respectively. The video only gets weirder from there.

That said, either we’ve been conditioned with the sight of too many hipsters in mom jeans, or Wilde is the best jeans model out there, because we’re seriously digging her Wranglers — complete with white and gold buckle belt.
