Every ABC show may be ripe with drama, but the fashion never suffers because of it. Between Nashville’s countrified looks and Olivia Pope’s ability to avert crisis wearing all-white on Scandal, the network has developed quite a nice rep in the costume department. So naturally, we’re expecting the stars to ante up on the red carpet. And we’re happy to report that left to their own devices, the stars stack up.
First, there was Kerry Washington who continues her perfect style spree in a custom Giambattista Valli halter dress. The design’s bold paisley print set again Pope’s choice-hue, had perfect warm whether flair with a ladylike silhouette that calls out to her refined style. Revenge’s resident vengeance-seeking star Emily VanCamp looked equally awe-inspiring, sporting an ode to the ’70s in a beige suede halter dress that looks like it was made at the hands of Halston himself. Then there was Malin Ackerman, who because we happen to be large proprietresses of the jumpsuit, receives a gold star for her siren red, one-shoulder onesie. Other standouts included Christa B. Allen’s hot pink, ’60s inspired Jenni Kayne frock that looked all the more retro with her blunt bangs and Sophie Lowe in her neon printed Carven Resort 2014 confection.
