Most country music events call for big gowns and bigger hair, but at last night’s Academy of Country Music Awards, stars like Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, and Carrie Underwood proved that more sometimes isn’t always better.
T-Swizzy rocked a metal Dolce & Gabbana dress, and smartly paired it with a simple ponytail and zero accessories. It was a cooler look than we’re used to from the girly-girl, but seriously, is it took much to ask for a smile on the red carpet?
Beth Behrs‘ Monique Lhuillier and Underwood’s Naeem Khan gowns were also both quite gorgeous. The hot pink shade of Behrs’ gown popped against a sea of sequins and neutrals, while Underwood’s floral number was unexpected and insanely pretty. Meanwhile, Crow, and Kimberly Schlapman ditched their gowns for navy blue jumpsuits. We’re not huge fans of Crow’s bustier top, but the overall look was a winner.
The breakout star on the red carpet was, without a doubt, the lady in the black blazer, leather shorts, and button-down top. We have no idea who Tori Kelly is, but her outfit is awesome.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
