We tend to think of Anna Dello Russo like we would some kind of strange exotic bird – unabashedly colorful, outrageously flamboyant, and fascinating to observe in her natural habitat. Kind of like Daphne Guinness if she were switched off greyscale.
So you can imagine how pleased we were to see that Susie Bubble met up with the Vogue Nippon editrix this week for a little show-and-tell. Dello Russo, it seems, is not only a prolific blogger, distinguished wearer of many a glittery fruit hat, and shining star of Christmas-themed dance videos – she’s a scrapbooking enthusiast! That’s right folks, the street style phenomenon shares a hobby with legions of Midwestern moms.
How else would she execute the precise placement of the jumping birds, dancing wedding cakes, and winking Betty Boops that populate her blog? Or decide which glittery baubles she J’ADRs at any given time?
She also uses her scrapbook to decide on outfits for major events (as if there is anything else for Ms. Dello Russo, for whom a trip to the pharmacy undoubtedly necessitates six inch Giuseppe Zanotti heels and a hot pink fur) but alas, we have not yet been made privy to her Met ball picks. We think it’s safe to say, however, that it will be an outfit for the books.
