Alexa Chung To Host Yet Another Fashion Reality Show

Alexa Chung is giving television yet another go. The former model and short-lived MTV host is set to host a Lifetime design competition called 24-Hour Catwalk.

Chung is just the latest model-turned-TV personality to host a fashion design-themed reality show. Heidi Klum was at the forefront with Project Runway and Elle MacPherson is hosting the like-themed Design Star this fall. Project Runway is also debuting a spinoff later this year, Project Runway All-Stars.

British-born style icon Chung is no rookie when it comes to television. Her hosting gig on MTV’s It’s On With Alexa Chung was cut short after two seasons in 2009 but Alexa has continued her career with the English series Gonzo with Alexa Chung. The face of Mulberry was also slated to do a shopping show for PBS called Thrifting America this year but details have yet to surface.

While we don’t have too many details on the show — Women’s Wear Daily says the premise “pits designers against each other in runway challenges” — we can’t imagine the world needs another Project Runway knock-off. And at this point, no one can top the chemistry trifecta that is Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, and Michael Kors — so why bother?
