We can’t decide if Amy Adams resurrected the best or worst of the ’90s when she hit last night’s American Hustle screening in a spider comb headband. As soon as we saw her look we were overwhelmed with nostalgia for the accessory, a staple of our childhood — but is the drugstore buy worthy of a floor-length, high collar black lace gown by Elie Saab?
We want to believe in the spider comb as it is an easier way to achieve streamlined, slicked back hair back if you’re intimated by the wet hair look. And yet, by wearing the zig zag contraption you run the risk of landing of the wrong side of found-again childhood trends. Perhaps, we should just leave it at crops tops and chokers.
Also in attendance at the premiere was Adam’s co-star Bradley Cooper, who opted for a knee-length grey wool coat with a black velvet collar, paired with a grey suit and tie. The well-groomed look was one of his best to date, and we hope it means that Cooper will be delving further into dandy territory because it happens to suit him well.
Noticeably missing from the red carpet was Jennifer Lawrence, but fortunately we could take solace in other fine females such as Behati Prinsloo and Taryn Manning. See all the attendees, below:
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
