Except that while Beyoncé’s album drop was a calculated move involving non-disclosure agreements that probably involved promises of swift and certain death, Haze’s was one of the biggest “f*** you”s in modern music history.
22-year-old Haze leaked her own much anticipated album Dirty Gold via Soundcloud at 10:45am this morning, following a spat with her label Island Records. The album was originally scheduled for a March 4 release.
The argument came to light via Twitter just seconds before the album was dropped, and Haze’s original stream has now been removed from Soundcloud. However we’re pretty certain we’ll no longer have to wait until March to get the proper iTunes edition — and definitely don’t regret naming her the most stylish woman in music right now.
